Greetings,
There has been 16-18” of new snow on the trails since Saturday night and more predicted for the weekend. Some of the guys are going up tomorrow to pack things down and then they will probably groom Thursday eve or Friday. When we get a lot of snow like this it needs to be packed and set up before we can smooth it out and set tracks.
A big Thanks to the good people at Kennon Products as they made and donated two signs for the trail head at both trails to urge users to support the trails. These are replacing the ones I put up a month ago.
Last weekend’s chili feed was a beautiful day but was not well attended. Thanks for the members that made all the cookies. I groomed all the trails early that morning and skiing was decent. Since we have had poor attendance for the chili feed the last two years, Linda and I have decided not to host it anymore. I feel bad if you have attended regularly in the past, but it is not worth the work we have to put into it for the few who show up. If anyone has any ideas on a function for the future please bring your ideas to our spring meeting, date TBA.
We normally groom until mid-March give or take, so the end of the season is not far off. Take advantage of the few weeks we have left to enjoy the trails.
Happy trails,
Curt
