I had to go up to the trails tonight and do some repairs on one of the snowmobiles and while I was there I went around Prune Creek and Dead Horse twice with the blade. There is about 8-10” of new snow and the blade really smoothed a lot of the bumps and I worked on leveling the trail as well. I am planning on going back up early Saturday and blade Cat Walk and run the Ginzu around an set tracks. The plan is to roll Cutler also. We need to get the blue stakes out to mark the trail in the open areas and put up the map an thermometer up at the sign board. There are still a lot of trees leaning into the trail so if any of you want to cut them out feel to do so. We will work on them too. We will try to roll Blue Creek Meadow and there is going to be a lot of down trees in the section that goes through the logging area. We will get to it eventually but for now we are concentrating on getting the rest of the trails in top shape. The trails right now are in the condition we usually see in January.
I wouldn’t ski across the lake just yet. The ice is good, there is water running over the ice and under the snow so until it freezes better we will groom the old trail along the lake. I went across it Thanksgiving day with the Alpine and sunk in the slush and tonight had the same thing happen. All that slush stuck to the blade and it turned into a giant snow cone that didn’t want to move when I got to the shore.
