Greetings,
We have finally got a break in the weather with only 4” of snowfall this week. Last Fridays grooming was an adventure to say the least. 12-14” of new snow and 5 of us spent the evening packing it down (when we weren’t getting stuck). We suffered our first grooming casualty when Matt Davis dis-located a knee on the Prune Creek Loop. It is just not right when someone gets hurt doing volunteer work. I have to wonder if the people that don’t pay anything to support the trails realize what the groomers put themselves through to make these trails usable for all of us.
Tom and I rolled and bladed Sibley last night and thinking we were going to get some snow today did not set tracks, so Tom is going up in the morning to set tracks. Matt McMeans is going to roll Cutler tomorrow afternoon. The trails are as good as they get right now and the end of the season is drawing near so get out and enjoy! The weather looks like a little snow Saturday and Saturday night and below freezing temps which should be great conditions.
There was a watch found at Cutler last Saturday and a white Columbia Hat lost on the Prune Creek Loop Wednesday so if the watch is yours or you find the hat let me know and I will get you re-connected. We may have groomed the hat into the trail last night so look for a fuzzy spot in the trail.
