Greetings,   Three of us spent 6 hours Wednesday packing and widening the trails at Cutler and Sibley.  The trails are in excellent shape and Dead Horse is wide enough for skate and classic both except for the usual narrow spots.   We set tracks on Dead Horse, Tie Hack and Prune Creek.  There was [...]

Greetings,   NOAA is predicting a possible 12” of new snow for the mountain tonight and tomorrow.  Jim and I are planning on working on Sibley in the morning.  I would like to spend some time widening and flattening the trails so we may not get tracks set until later.  The amount of snow we [...]

Greetings, There have been about 6" of new snow since the last grooming.  We are planning on grooming this evening starting with Sibley and if it works out Cutler too.  There is a chance of snow again on Saturday but we will see what we get before we make a decision to groom this weekend. [...]

Seasons Greetings,   According to the Snotel at Burgess there was only one inch of new snow in this last storm.  We are planning on going to Sibley in the morning and putting up some snow fence on the upper part of Dead Horse and split the fire wood at the hut.   We will groom [...]

Greetings,   The plan is to put out the blue stakes, set tracks at Sibley, and pack Cutler in the morning.  Most the trail has good coverage and it doesn’t look like there has been any new snowfall this week.  Last week we couldn’t get the Yamaha started due to the cold so we [...]

Greetings,   The high today at Burgess was 12F above so we are planning to groom in the morning.  It is still forecasted to get well below zero up there tonight but as long as we can get the machines running we should be good to go.  It should be as warm or warmer up [...]

Greetings,   I was looking at the calendar, we are still in our fall season.  Makes you wonder what kind of winter we are going to have.   We have not been on the trails since last weekend and will not be grooming tomorrow due to the cold.  It is going to moderate a bit [...]

Today, Tom and I hauled the firewood and stacked it in front of the hut.  As soon as we get the ax up there we can work on splitting it up into usable pieces.  I think we have enough to get through the winter but we will see as time progresses.  There has been no [...]

We packed all the trails for the first time today.  There is 12-16” of snow on most of the trails, with a few bare spots in the areas that get a lot of direct sun or where the trees capture the snow.  For the most part everything has good coverage.  We rolled part of Cutler, [...]

We will be taking the remainder of the equipment up this Saturday and hope to start packing the trails. There was over a foot of snow in the shaded areas when we pulled the trailers in and there has been about 6” of snowfall since then. I will let you know on how it looks [...]
