Greetings,
Tom, Clint and I headed up the mountain early this morning thinking it would be an easy day of grooming. The Snotel at Burgess at 4:00AM showed 3” of new snow, piece of cake right? When we stopped at Cutler and got stuck in the berm the plows left we discovered about 12” of new snow. It took all day but all of Cutler is packed, Dead Horse, Prune Creek, Cat Walk, Tie Hack have tracks set and the Flume is packed at Sibley. It took us a bit longer as we are down one machine. I hit a rock last week packing Blue Creek but we should have it repaired and back on the mountain next week. All the trails are in great shape, we spent a little extra time and bladed all the trails to level them out before setting tracks.
Burgess has been getting some tremendous winds but it hasn’t been blowing at Sibley much. Weather looks great for the next week so enjoy the trails!
Since we all are getting new calendars, mark January 28 for the chili feed.
Thanks to Bella Graphics for donating a large portion of the cost for some new boundary signs. Most of them are located at areas where recreational snowmobilers have entered the trails in the past.
Happy New Year and Happy trails,
Curt
